2016 Kia Sedona Review

I have to admit, being such a car chick I've never been the type to even glance in the direction of a vehicle in the minivan family.  Even after having children, we've just always preferred the SUV's and sporty types of vehicles between my husband and I.  So even with three children between the ages of 5 and 18, we have had no desire to own a minivan...until now.

I was sent over a 2016 Kia Sedona to review this time around with the timing perfectly planned around our mini road trip for Spring Break with the whole family.  Being that we were headed out of town for the weekend, I knew this would be perfect to haul all of our supplies and make the trip that much more comfortable!  I had no idea this would be a vehicle that all three of my children would literally be begging me to keep after only a few days driving it.

I have to start off by saying this is definitely a car that has it all!  The 2016 Kia Sedona comes with things like 12-Volt Power Outlets for all the kids tablets and other technology must haves.  The Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control gives passengers the option to control their comfort especially on long trips.  The Integrated 2nd and 3rd Row Window Sunshades made it easy for the kids to nap while we drove.

No joke, there is a whopping 12 cup holders throughout the vehicle so two drinks per passenger is not even an issue.  We also though the chilling glove box was pretty darn cool.  "Air conditioning flows right into the lower glove box so that a cool beverage is easily on hand".

Because we are such a rocker family, when everyone was awake the 8 Speakers with with Center Channel and Subwoofer Speakers made for a much more entertaining drive!  The Infinity® Surround Sound Audio System with External Amplifier had crisp and clear sound for all our jamming.  Our model had the 8" Display Navigation System with HD Radio and Sirius Traffic which is a feature that gives you real-time highway conditions.

The Slide-N-Stow® 2nd-Row Seats makes making room for everything and anything you can imagine toting easy.  The seats move and fold conveniently.  The second-row First-Class Lounge Seating was by far the kids favorite.  They claimed it was the same as sitting in our Lazy boy chair in the car.  They loved the pop up foot rests, arm rests, and leaning back to relax!  Also included in our model was both heated and ventilated front seats with options for heated 2nd row seats in some of the models.

On the outside of the vehicle, you've got Power-Folding Outside Mirrors in case you park in a parking structure or tight places like we had to this weekend while shopping.  There is even an option for Heated Outside Mirrors if you life in a climate like Michigan's!  I love the Variable Intermittent Windshield Wipers which automatically detect debris or rain, helping keep your eyes on the road where they belong!  We were able to see these in action as we drove through drastic changes in weather (from snow to rain to clear) on our drive.

All of the safety features come standard which is comforting to know Kia has you and your families safety in mind.  Included in these safety features are Front and rear 3-Point Seat Belts, 4 Wheel Disk Brakes with ABS, and reinforced steel beams in every door for side impact precaution. The Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), and Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) help control your vehicle in case of an accident applying brake pressure to specific areas and keeping you heading in the right direction.

There are airbags throughout (front advanced, front side, and full length side curtain) as well as Front and Rear Crumple Zones to protect you in case of an accident.  And for the families with small children, "Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) is a universal child seat attachment system that allows for quick, easy and secure installation and removal of LATCH equipped child seats."

I have to say overall of course the security and safety of the vehicle is fantastic.  Anyone driving this car will have the peace of mind you or your family are protected.  I could honestly go on and on about the features in this vehicle as it seems to have just about everything.

Available to Purchase/Cost: Starting at $26,400 2016 Kia Sedona
Recommendation:  This is a vehicle I would recommend to any family wanting both luxury and safety while trying not to break the bank!  The safety features are there and the pricing of the vehicle is amazingly low with all the included features and extras.

I can't believe I am saying this especially after starting out by saying how against a minivan we've been, but we are actually shopping around for a Sedona currently for our next vehicle!
