2014 Kia Forte EX Review
Recently I was given a unique opportunity to review a product I hadn't really thought of prior to the offer coming in. As a non-specific product reviewer, I like to keep a wide variety of reviews flowing through the blog so there is something for everyone! I really consider my blog to have more than one focus. So this time around, I was sent over a 2014 Kia Forte EX to review and share with all of you!
Last time I reviewed the 2014 Kia Sorento and I started out telling you I had never considered Kia as a vehicle option. However, after cruising around in the Sorento, my eyes were newly opened and I had decided this was definitely a brand to consider.
The 2014 Kia Forte EX has Solor Controlled Glass so before you even enter the car, it has reduced the interior heat built up on sunny days. At night, the Illuminated Door Handle Pockets get you in the car a lot easier. There is a Rear Camera Display and Backup Warning System, so you can keep an eye out as you back up for more than just moving objects (children, grocery carts) but possible bikes parked behind you or even trees or barriers.
Because this one was the bare minimum model, it didn't have most of the features which were available. However, please keep in mind you have different options available such as heated and ventilated front seats, driver's seat memory, dual-zone automatic temperature control with center console rear vents, heated rear seats, or push button start with smart key and immobilizer.
All of the safety features come standard with both models which is comforting to know Kia has you and your families safety in mind. Included in these safety features are Front and rear 3-Point Seat Belts, 4 Wheel ABS, reinforced steel beams in every door for side impact precaution, Impact-Absorbing Steering Column, Internal Emergency Trunk Release, and so much more.
There are airbags throughout (front advanced, front side, and full length side curtain) as well as Front and Rear Crumple Zones to protect you in case of an accident. And for the families with small children, "Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) is a universal child seat attachment system that allows for quick, easy and secure installation and removal of LATCH equipped child seats."
We were really not big fans of the way there is a window by the side mirrors. Usually this area is covered and flows with the interior. Not only did this seem like a pointless mirror, we felt as if it was very distracting when when trying to look out your side mirrors.
I have to say overall of course the security and safety of the vehicle is fantastic. Anyone driving this car will have the peace of mind you or your family are protected. However, I was not impressed with this car overall. Maybe it was the lack in features of my model or it just wasn't for us.
Available to Purchase/Cost: Starting at $15,900
Recommendation: This is a vehicle I would recommend to a couple or single trying to save some money! The safety features are there and the pricing of the vehicle is less expensive if you can do without all the "extras".
